What happens when I receive a gift of an Okuru Gift Card via instant messaging or email?

You will receive a link with your gift message.

If you have already downloaded the Okuru app, when you click on the link that was sent to you, you will receive the message from your sender. Then click on the Unwrap your gift button. Your gift card will now appear in your app wallet and you can then proceed to use it.

If you do not already have the Okuru app on your device, the link will prompt you to download from either the App Store or Google Play Store depending on your device.

You will then have to create an account in the Okuru app.

Your gift card will subsequently show up in your Okuru app Wallet.

When you need to use the gift card instore, please present your mobile device with the Okuru app Wallet showing the gift card to be redeemed.

The cashier will then scan the barcode or QR code and input the amount of your purchase.

And if that does not work, then you can click on the copy icon (it looks like 2 pages one behind the other) that is next to the QR code of the gift card you are redeeming and paste in Google or Safari to obtain the barcode and PIN code for store redemption.

The transaction will immediately be reflected in your Okuru app Wallet.

Please note that some gift cards are for one time use only.

As such you will have to redeem the full value of the gift card in one go.

Once a gift card has been redeemed please mark as used if its not automatically converted.
