Why do I have to pay a transaction fee when purchasing a gift card on the Okuru App

Why Does Okuru Charge a Transaction Fee?

At Okuru, we are committed to providing a safe, secure, and seamless gift card purchasing experience. To continue offering secure instant digital delivery while protecting both buyers and sellers from fraud, a transaction fee is applied to each purchase.

What Does This Fee Cover?

Fraud Prevention & Security – Online gift card fraud is a growing issue. We invest in advanced fraud detection to block suspicious transactions, protecting both customers and small businesses from chargebacks and unauthorised purchases.

Instant & Reliable Delivery – Unlike physical gift cards that can be lost or delayed, Okuru ensures your digital gift cards arrive instantly and securely after your order has been meticulously verified and approved for delivery.

Trusted Payment Processing – We work with Paypal to securely process transactions, reducing the risk of stolen payment details being used fraudulently.

Main type of Fraud We Prevent

🔹 Stolen Credit Cards & PayPal Accounts – Fraudsters attempt to purchase high-value gift cards using stolen payment details, leading to chargebacks that harm businesses and consumers. We have a system of only approving genuine payments and cancelling orders with unverified Paypal payments. This helps in keeping your credit card or Paypal account from getting stolen and used for fraudulent purposes on our Okuru App.

We further have built in systems that track order, payment and delivery details to assist in the event of your possible dispute with Paypal over your stolen credit card or Paypal details.

We also track historical data and buying patterns of blacklisted accounts to minimise fraudulent occurences to protect you as a consumer.

By applying this small fee, we ensure that Okuru remains a trusted, scam-free space for digital gifting.
